We were able to go down to Utah for the weekend and have a fun day for Davis' birthday. Grandma Pam took him to Chuck E Cheese, what a blast they had! Then we got together with both Vellinga and Cox families that night for cake and ice-cream and a good ol' party. It was so much fun to be with grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles...we sure miss seeing everyone. And thanks again to the Vellinga house for their big party room that can actually fit everyone.
Not my most creative cake, but Davis now has an opinion of what kind of cake he wants, so the options are limited!

Earlier in the day, Claire and cousin Madelyn helped Grandma Jean plant bulbs in her flower bed. Those two are peas in a pod...they adore each other. Red-headed kindred spirits!

Happy Birthday Davis!!! Oh, I missed seeing you at the scrapbook night dang it! Next month! :) And I must say that I am so glad you watched Camp Coucamunga too!!! -- what a NERDY movie but so worth watching at the same time!
Tell Davis Happy Birthday from Bryson--he came over while I was checking out your blog. :) Looks like you guys had fun, and I'm so glad you were able to come over and gab on Friday. We are doing breakfast in November though--don't forget!!
Happy Birthday Davis! I can't believe he is 6. Wow! When we first moved here he had just turned 2. He was an energetic little Davis. We always loved to watch him. I can't believe how time flies. So sad I had to miss scrapbook night, but as you know we had other important things to do, like having a baby!:) He was ready to come that is for sure. Sorry, I never called you on Sunday. It was a crazy day, but the next time you are in town, we definitely need to get together. See ya soon!

I love the cake! What a good idea to do lettering with candy. I am totally going to copy-cat that for CArson's upcoming bday! Hope all is well. We miss you guys.
