Okay, I'm a RED personality. I like things my way, I don't like surprises, I plan so I'm not surprised, and I follow the instructions so there are no surprises at the end, and I work hard to get my desired result. OCD, yes. But it's efficient and successful and it works.
Until yesterday.
When I made 3 batches of freezer raspberry jam, my most FAVORITE thing in the world. And a sweet friend up here gave me half the berries to add to my own piddly pickings from my garden so I would have enough to make jam. And I was so excited. And I was so careful. AND MY JAM DID NOT SET! Not one jar.
Apricot jam: Set just fine
Strawberry jam: Never had a problem
Yummy, yummy raspberry jam: Runny syrup
I'm in mourning. Please just share my pain for a minute. Sniff, sniff

AHHH, that stinks! I've had that happen before, but I think it was because I used low sugar pectin and didn't add enough lemon juice. So, hopefully you'll have better luck next time, but I feel your pain.
P.S. It works great for pancakes and waffles!
oh stinky poo poo!
sad sad sad well it still sounds good on waffles and pancakes i am in mourning for you
AW MAN! I hate it when that stuff happens. It does sound very yummy for pancakes though, so give it away at Christmas as Homemade Raspberry syrup! :)
I hate when that happens! There is nothing worse! You could use it as syrup though? Good luck (:
HEY! You changed your blog! Looking good! :)
I've never tried raspberry freezer jam. I'd like your recipe, if you don't mind! Hopefully, I won't fail. I am barely starting to get an interest in canning and making jam. Never thought I'd care...I love your stories Mani.
