Turning 3 and Stuff

We celebrated our baby's birthday a few weeks ago. It is hard to believe she is 3. She's still the baby, that can't happen! We love her to pieces, even though she is fairly stubborn and does things her own way, gosh dang it. We think maybe this will be the year her hair grows past her ears. But if I was a betting man, I wouldn't take the bet. I keep running into people that say, "Oh, I had one like that. There really wasn't a lot of hair until they were 5." Seriously? It can take that long? Sigh.

What a girl; you can never have too many dress-ups.

What a boy; you can never have too much food.

In other news of our family, we made it to our Davis Family Campout over Memorial Day. Never miss it! But no pictures because I kept forgetting to get out the camera. The weather started nice and progressively declined until Sunday night, when we packed it up early for only the second time in my married life, but even I'm glad we did. When I found out that it snowed that night and that baby bears were in the area, and that a little boy drowned in a river in the next canyon over and that a tree crashed down that night right where our tents were posted, I am thrilled that we made it home in one piece. It really was a fun weekend, and it was great to see my brothers and their babies and get to visit for a little while.

We also were able to see brand-new baby Sophie, my sister Jana's new baby, miracle that she is. What a beautiful baby! Hop over to her blog for some great pictures. I can't wait to get to hold her some more....sometime!

Now we are just trying to survive summer without our Daddy. I thought it would be easier because we wouldn't be getting up for school and running around at night before bedtime. And that's true, but now we have to figure out how to survive being together all the time with no breaks for our personalities to simmer down. I'm starting to think my children MIGHT have some of the stubborn qualities of their father and the narrowsighted determination of their mother. Poor things. But thanks to baseball and swimming (Thanks, Steph!) and lunch in the park, we might survive.

And finally, we are still trying to sell our house so we can move, and there is nothing in the works, so we are starting to really panic and wonder what we're supposed to do. Summer is in full swing, and we don't have long before some very hard decisions will have to be made. I would love for someone to tell me what to do. Solicited advice....take the opportunity!

In the meantime, we look forward to Dave's Anderson reunion at Flaming Gorge and his two weeks off in July...hurray!
