Anyhoo, we had a little party the night before Sadie's birthday with cake ice-cream, and swinging on her present - a swingset. Which sounds grand, but really I couldn't stomach buying another toy for our house that we don't need, and we wanted to get a swingset, so Happy Birthday Sadie! You can glimpse it in the background of the photo of my parents. Also, thanks to Cox and Vellinga Grandparents for sending money; we bought a wagon with it and Sadie already loves it.
The one thing Sadie did receive on her actual birthday was a LOVELY carpet burn on her forehead, courtesy of her siblings holding her legs and dragging her around on her belly. I guess she normally likes it, but decided to lay her head down and....there you have it.

Happy Birthday Sadie! Wow, that year flew by for me. That wasn't an announcement was it (one more baby)!!! Just kidding:) I love the butterfly cake and cupcakes. What a cute idea. That's too bad about the carpet burn, but it makes good memories right.

Poor carpetburned Sadie. But yay for Birthday #1!! :) I can't believe she is one already...I feel like I've missed her whole year! I think it might be time for a roadtrip to American Falls.

What a sad carpet burn! But I am glad your parents made it up. Sorry I didn't call back the other day. It has been crazy lately. I am game to come stay with you when Cody is at Scout camp. But do you really want me and my 3 kids?!?!?!
