This may seem silly, but it was a HUGE event for me...and Sadie. I actually got a piggytail in her hair! And there was enough left over to gel it and make it curly for church. I know the elastic is REALLY far back on her head, but that's the only spot that has long enough hair. MAYBE by the time she's two, we can actually brush it.
Happy 7 Years old, Davis!! All I could think about during his birthday was, "Next year he'll get baptized. Yikes!" Davis had a pretty fun weekend for his birthday. Cupcakes at school, going to an arcade with his Dad and winning 1000 tickets on a Spin-the-Wheel game, cake and ice-cream on his birthday with presents. But then the fun seemed to halt. Poor child. The day after his birthday, he wore his new Transformers watch to school; at first recess, the transformer popped off and it is gone forever. He came home in tears! The next day, he was playing his new XBox game of Lego Indiana Jones. Sadie tipped over the Xbox while the game was running, which results in large circles being burned into the disc and it is now worthless. When he asked if he could take his new football to school for recess, Dave and I had several silent minutes of turmoil before we agreed. Thank heavens it has made it home safely thus far. According to Davis, "It's so big and colorful, I can't lose it Mom. And if I leave it on the playground, whoever finds it will just bring it to me because they'll know it's mine!" Oh, I wish that were always true.

Seven years old, how does this happen, that sounds so much older than six. Poor kid, how terribly disappointing with the xbox game and watch. Too bad we don't live close, Hayden loves that game, it would be fun if they could play together. Then after that maybe Davis could teach Hayden how to throw a football :)
Sheesh! I can't believe he is 7! I'm having a little panic attack here. Bummer about the present fiasco! And Sadie looks super cute. Remember that we had no idea Mia had curly hair until she was 19 months old. The child was bald FOREVER! But, it was worth the wait for the curls. Maybe Sadie will have Davis' curls?
CUTE! I love that you were able to do Sadie's hair. You lucky woman, you got a daughter just like Abby who had no hair to speak of until she was two. Now, she has tons so there's hope!! Tell Davis HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Bryson (who is very excited that Davis is now almost as old as he is...which totally cracked me up) and the rest of us. Hey and call me when you have lots of time to spare...cuz I'm a scout leader now and have no idea what I'm doing. :)
